WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?

Hypnosis is a state of relaxation and concentration at one with a state of heightened awareness induced by suggestion.

It is a non-addictive power for the good and is a natural manifestation of the mind at work.

While in a state of hypnosis, a person is very, very relaxed and while in this more relaxed state, they find it easier to accept beneficial suggestions ( eg “you are now a non-smoker”)

At all times you remain in control and perfectly awake. Hypnosis for therapeutic purposes is just about relaxation. Hypnosis is a state of relaxation and concentration at one with a state of heightened awareness induced by suggestion.

A good technical definition of hypnosis is : A state of relaxation and concentration at one with a heightened awareness induced by suggestion. The word hypnosis is derived from the Greek word ‘hypnos’ meaning ‘to sleep’, but it is actually far from being asleep.

CAN HYPNOSIS REALLY HELP ME?

A visit to the Hypnotherapist should be a pleasant and relaxing experience and one that could result in the relief of many health problems whether they are anxiety, stress, depression, phobias or one of the many problems that modern life often causes us to suffer.

It is not generally realised that hypnotherapy can help with traditionally ‘difficult to treat’ conditions such as irritable bowel, psoriasis, some asthmas, migraine and alopecia.

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness in which the subject becomes receptive to suggestions and changes in attitude, which enables them to face up to or deal with outstanding and troublesome aspects of their life.

The treatment is pleasant and not as is often depicted in stage shows and television.
